I am a dance artist in love by fusion. Finding the elements that are common to different cultures and understanding how all cultures are related is something that always fascinated me as an interdisciplinary behavioral researcher, and that moves me as a dancer. I also feel compelled to explore different aspects of myself as a person through dance, creating new dancing selves constantly, finding new styles of music, costuming, stories and concepts to use in my performances.
This predisposition for experimenting is reflected on my work as a solo artist, and also in my willingness to collaborate with very different artists and projects. Before I decided to dedicate myself to dance I worked as a researcher in psychological science, and I apply a lot from this background in my work as a dancer and dance teacher. I love to teach and believe in working hard while having fun simultaneously, including group interaction and improvisation in my classes, as well as precise muscular and breathing awareness cues. I am kind of a geek, I am curious and enjoy learning new things constantly. I use glasses since I was a child, and I am very fond of books, cinema and sci-fi.
Poetry was my first artistic vehicle. I love walking in nature, and I am addicted to daydreaming. That's when most of my creative work is done! I am passionate for Blues n' Rock music, and have a crush on old Jazz music (Jazz Era to the 60's mainly). I have a fetish for everything Art Nouveau and the roaring twenties, and also a big crush on vintage fashion from the 20's up to 70's. I also have a thing for post-punk and dark wave, and have a huge collection of black clothes in my wardrobe. My favorite dish is pizza, and my favorite dessert is chocolate, preferably melting, ahahaha. I adore to meet new people and new places, so I am grateful for all the travelling that being a dancer and teacher entails.
Hope to meet you on my next travels! Welcome to my dance world!
